#ProBigRed: Huskers in the NFL - Week 1

By NU Athletic Communications

Numerous Huskers saw action in Week 1 as the 2018 NFL season kicked off last week. Several Huskers had big impacts on leading their teams to victory, including two AFC East rivals in Rex Burkhead (Patriots) and Quincy Enunwa (Jets), who combined for over 100 yards of total offense. Burkhead led a crowded Patriots backfield with 18 carries for 64 yards while Enunwa led the Jets in catches and receiving yards.

Andy Janovich was his usual self on Sunday for the Broncos as they defeated Seattle by a field goal. He helped create holes for a couple big running plays and chipped in a tackle on special teams too.

Maliek Collins had his first sack of the season for the Cowboys and Ndamukong Suh made four tackles in the Rams win over the Raiders. Cornerback Prince Amukamara had five tackles for the Bears in a close loss to the Packers.

On the offensive line, Spencer Long (Jets), Alex Lewis (Ravens) and Matt Slauson (Colts) started and played every offensive snap. Long and Lewis were able to pave the way for their teams to multiple touchown victories while Slauson and the Colts fell just short against the Bengals.

Sam Koch was excellent punting the ball for Baltimore, as he racked up an average of 51.4 yards on five punts, with three punts downed inside the 20. His best punt of the day traveled 63 yards.

Lavonte David (Buccaneers) and Will Compton (Titans) each made impacts for their teams on defense and special teams. David led Tampa Bay with nine tackles and Compton chipped in two tackles for Tennessee.

A complete list of statistics by former Huskers in the NFL is below.
