Before Nebraska: Trey Kissack spent one season at UNC-Greensboro after going to Southeast Community College for his first year of college baseball • As a sophomore at UNC-Greensboro in 2018, made six appearances on the mound, including three starts, to help the Spartans capture the Southern Conference regular-season crown • In 2017, while playing at Southeast Community College, went 5-3 in 14 starts, logging 68.1 innings and recording 70 strikeouts, while posting a 4.08 ERA • Earned Region IX All-Tournament Team, North Plains All-District Team and Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska JUCO Team honors in 2017 • Helped Southeast earn a Regional Championship, a District Championship and took the Storm to their first-ever NJCAA World Series appearance • Played high school baseball at Grand Island under Coach Rick Kissack, where he graduated in 2016 • A three-year starter for the Islanders, he went 11-2 in 97.2 innings and earned a 2.37 ERA, while striking out 111 batters • During that span, Grand Island went 62-24 and made three state tournament appearances • Helped lead his Legion team to the 2014 Nebraska American Legion Summer title, earning a win and a save in the tournament • Garnered second-team All-Nebraska honors from the Omaha World-Herald and second-team Super-State accolades from the Lincoln Journal Star in 2016 • A two-time All-USA Today Nebraska second-team member and two-time all-conference honoree • Served as the baseball team captain in 2016 • Named the 2016 Max Preps Team Player of the Year • Earned three letters for the Grand Island football team, where he served as team captain in 2015, earning all-conference recognition on two occasions.
