Cream Wins Intrasquad Meet
Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska swim and dive team hosted their annual Scarlet and Cream Intrasquad Meet. The scarlet team started with 27 points and the cream team started with 38 points from their team-bonding activity. The cream topped the scarlet wtih a final score of 138-124.
In the 200-yard freestyle, senior captain Kaylyn Flatt took first for the scarlet followed by Haebig for the cream.
Tori Beeler put the scarlet on the board for first in the 200-yard IM and Alli Kopas came in second for the cream.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Posthuma took first for the cream and Murray came in second for the scarlet.
Kopas found a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, followed by Carla Gonzalez-Garcia.
Flatt earned her second first place finish of the day in the 500-yard freestyle and Rachel Powers followed for second.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Haebig came in first and McCafferty came in second.
Beeler took first in the 100-yard breaststroke followed by Worlton.
Scarlet finished the meet strong with a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (Helferich, Gonzalez, Walstad and Murray). Cream took second (Kopas, Savitt, Stalheim and Worrall).
On the diving front, Sara Troyer and Jessica Warak took first and second in the one-meter dive event for the cream, respectively.
The Nebraska swim and dive team will be back in the lanes tomorrow at Devaney as they host the Northern Illinois Panthers for their second dual of the season.
