Huskers Victorious on Senior Day
Lincoln- The Nebraska swimming and diving team defeated Rutgers on senior day after a two-day dual with a final score of 193-160.
The Husker divers continued to show their strength with All-American Abi Knapton finishing first in the one-meter dive (292.95) and Sara Troyer following for third (260.40).
In the 400-yard medley relay, the Big Red took second with Morgan McCafferty, Gwen Worlton, Izzie Murray and Allie Worrall in the lane (3:49.50). Autumn Haebig, Tori Beeler, Dana Posthuma and Lindsay Helferich followed for third (3:49.60).
Helferich came in third in the 50-yard freestyle (24.02) followed by a third-place win from Walstad in the 100-yard backstroke (55.83).
Worlton (1:04.77) and Beeler (1:06.25) took first and second in the 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Posthuma posted a second-place performance (55.29).
Haebig finished first in the the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.87) and Allie Worrall followed for third (1:54.67).
Coughlen and McDonald came in second (4:28.43) and third (4:29.99) in the 400-yard IM, respectively.
The Huskers finished the meet strong with a first-place win in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:28.38) with Helferich, Gonzalez-Garcia, Beeler and Haebig in the lane.
With this victory, the Big Red advance to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Huskers will travel to Bloomington, Ind. to compete in the Big Ten Championships Feb. 20-22.
