Huskers Thrive at Sunshine State Classic

 Orlando, Fla.- The Nebraska women’s bowling team took second place over the weekend at the Sunshine State Classic in Orlando, Florida.

The Huskers started Sunday’s best four-of-seven baker style championship tournament with a 4-1 victory over Vanderbilt, sending them to play Stephen F. Austin for the tournament title. NU came out strong, winning the first three games 223-209,207-197, 204-190, respectively. Stephen F. Austin fired back, taking the next four games (174-187,192-240,151-210,160-195) to win the tournament title.

Junior Allison Morris dominated the individual standings, finishing in first with her average of 225.8. Junior Raquel Orozco also finished in the top ten, taking ninth place with her average of 206.

The Huskers will return to the lanes next Friday through Sunday at the Stephen F. Austin Stormin’ Ladyjack Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
