A five-star recruit out of Newport Beach, Calif., Andre Saleh comes to Nebraska as one of the highest ranked recruits in school history. Saleh was ranked as high as No. 52 nationally and climbed to No. 41 on the Dunlop RPI list. Saleh, who will contend for immediate time in the Nebraska lineup, was ranked as the No. 13 player in California and the No. 15 competitor in the Southwest region by Head Recruiting.
"Andre is someone we identified in the first few months after we arrived at Nebraska last summer," Nebraska Coach Sean Maymi said. "He has a big game, quick-strike ability, and can win points in a variety of ways. Andre's enthusiasm is contagious, and we are very excited to begin working with him."
Saleh climbed as high as No. 52 in the national recruiting rankings after rising to No. 13 in the state of California and No. 15 in the Southwest region, according to Head Recruiting lists. He also ranked as high as No. 41 in the Dunlop RPI, while owning the No. 46 strength of schedule. Saleh owned a 16-4 record against four-star recruits and went 8-10 against five-star opponents, prior to his signing his National Letter of Intent to play for Nebraska.
The son of Terek and Kristine Saleh, Andre has an older brother, Dante, who was a four-year letterwinner as a tennis player at Auburn. His father was a collegiate swimmer at Texas Tech and Pepperdine.
"I chose Nebraska because I felt that the coaching staff would really give me the best chance to improve and succeed on the tennis court. All the little things you get here as a student-athlete added up to a lot that influenced my decision: great trainers, tutors, and doctors are available whenever you need them."
