Lincoln, Neb. - Head coach Chuck Chmelka announced Monday that along with the two signees - Travis Gollott and Antonio Castro - Nebraska will add walk-on Andrew Klump to its roster in 2014. The three-time Region 4 all-around champion will add immediate depth to the Huskers' pommel horse lineup.
"We are very excited to add him to our team," said Chmelka. "He is an excellent student as well as pommel horseman."
The Plymouth, Minn. native has reached the semifinals at the Junior Olympics Nationals twice. He now specializes in pommel horse, after claiming the 2012 Minnesota State pommel horse title.
Klump also claimed second-team Academic All-American honors in 2012. He will graduate in May from Wayzata High School. Klump trains at North Shore Gymnastics under the supervision of coach Dale Bullivant. His former teammate Coleman Tokar is a freshman for the Huskers this year.
