2006-07 Season Outlook

Bailey Ingles hit full stride last season and is on track for a stellar senior year. Her late success could translate into big things for one of the Huskers' top butterfly and individual medley specialists.

2005-06 (Junior)

Ingles earned a top-eight finish at the Big 12 Championships in the 200-yard butterfly with a sixth-place finish in 2:03.97, just over a second off her career-best. Ingles also nearly broke a career best at the conference meet in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing just five one-hundreths of a second short (2:05.25) in 18th. In the 400-IM, she was four spots higher in 14th place. On the year, Ingles won four races, three in the 200-yard fly and one in the 100-yard backstroke, while finishing in the top five in individual events an impressive 19 times.

2004-05 (Sophomore)

Ingles was a top butterflier and individual medley competitor for the Huskers.  Ingles clinched Nebraska's third-place team finish at the Big 12 Championships with her victory in the consolation finals of the 200-yard fly in a near career-best time of 2:02.66.  The time led the team, and she was also the top swimmer in the 200-yard butterfly

(2:04.10). Ingles showed her versatility by also competing in backstroke for the Huskers at two meets, and with a 58.77 in the finals at the Texas Invitational, ranked No. 1 on the team for most of the season.  The Omaha, Neb., native won the 100-yard backstroke in front of her home crowd when NU faced Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Colorado on Feb. 28.  Through the year, Ingles won a total of five races, and added 25 top-10 finishes.

2003-04 (Freshman)

Ingles posted solid scores for the Huskers throughout the season with seven first-place finishes in individual events.  She won a pair of events against Truman State in the 100- (57.45) and 200-yard (2:06.03) butterfly events.  She also earned a pair of wins against Nevada and Fresno State in the 100- (58.17) and 200-yard (2:08.79) butterfly events.  Ingles picked up five additional wins as part of 200- and 400-yard medley relay squads.  She set three season-best times at the Big 12 Championships.

Ingles won five individual state titles in fly events and saw action on three relays that won state titles during her prep career at Millard West under Coach Tracy Stauffer.  Ingles was honored as the Outstanding Female Swimmer at the 2002 Nebraska state swim meet.

Bailey is the daughter of Jeanette and Guy Ingles and was born on July 9, 1984, in Omaha.  Bailey has one sister, Brandy.  Bailey's father, Guy, lettered in football for NU from 1968 to 1970 and was a key member of NU's first national championship team. Bailey is an elementary education major at Nebraska.
