Lincoln -- The Nebraska football team worked in half-pads for one hour and 40 minutes Wednesday afternoon in preparation for Saturday morning’s game at No. 16 Texas
Head Coach Frank Solich said the Huskers’ top units spent time working against each other.
“It was a half-pads practice that went fairly well,” Solich said. “We did do some 1’s against 1’s, both yesterday and today. I think if you are going to try to simulate Texas’ speed, you have to go 1’s against 1’s some. We did that, and hopefully it will pay some dividends.”
Solich also said that the Huskers are in good health heading into November.
“We’re fairly healthy going into the game,” Solich said. “We have another day of practice tomorrow, but as long as nothing happens, we should be in fairly good shape health wise.”
The Huskers will practice on Thursday afternoon in Memorial Stadium before departing for Austin on Friday afternoon. NU will walk-thru upon the team’s arrival in Austin.
