Lincoln The Nebraska football team took a break from finals exams, as the Huskers worked out for an hour and a half in half pads inside Cook Pavilion Tuesday afternoon.

"It was a good practice today," Nebraska Interim Coach Bo Pelini said. "We had a really good tempo and good effort and it was a good first day. We started introducing Michigan State to them for the first time today, and they worked against each other. It was a focused practice and an excellent practice."

Following Tuesday’s practice, Pelini talked with the media about Monday’s team meeting.

"There was a short players’ meeting. It wasn’t the first time that happened. I came in at the end. I understand the emotional aspect of the situation and was the voice of reason for them. It’s an emotional time for these guys with finals, getting ready for the bowl game, the holidays and the whole deal. We talked things out. The guys are focused, and I’m proud of the way they handled the whole situation."

Pelini said that there are no remaining issues to be resolved.

"There are no problems whatsoever," Pelini said. "I am in charge of this football team and that is the way things are. We are going down there with a job in mind and we are going down there to take care of business and play Nebraska football the way it should be played."

The Huskers will hold their pre-bowl press conference on Thursday, with lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Don Bryant Media Facility. Coach Pelini will begin at Noon with select players to follow. The Huskers will be off tomorrow, but will return to practice Thursday afternoon.
