Lincoln -- The Nebraska football team continued preparation for its Dec. 29 Alamo Bowl date with Michigan State on Thursday, going through a 1 hour workout inside Cook Pavilion.

The Husker players are nearing the completion of a week in which their main focus has been fall semester final exams. The last day for finals is Friday, then Nebraska can turn its full attention to preparing for the matchup against the 8-4 Spartans.

Assistant Head Coach Turner Gill said the Huskers have done an excellent job throughout bowl preparations of maintaining their focus.

"We’ve talked to the players about focusing on the things they can control, and that is exactly what they’ve done," Gill said. "They’ve got a few finals to finish up, and then we can really look ahead to the trip and focusing on Michigan State."

Nebraska will conduct two more practices before departing for San Antonio on Dec. 23. The Huskers will practice on Friday, with their final workout in Lincoln scheduled for Sunday morning. This weekend will also see 10 Husker seniors pick up their degrees in graduation ceremonies on Saturday morning at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
