San Antonio, Texas -- The Nebraska football team arrived in San Antonio on Tuesday afternoon, six days before the 22nd-ranked Huskers will meet 8-4 Michigan State in the 11th MasterCard Alamo Bowl.

Nebraska’s team charter had a late-morning departure from the Lincoln Airport and the Huskers landed in Texas shortly after noon on Tuesday. After a short bus ride, the Huskers checked into their team headquarters at the Hyatt Regency on San Antonio’s picturesque Riverwalk.

Nebraska had the remainder of the day on Tuesday to get acclimated to its surroundings before resuming preparations for the game with a Wednesday morning practice. Interim Coach Bo Pelini will put his team through three practices at San Antonio’s Trinity University, before the Huskers move their preparations to the Alamodome on Saturday, Dec. 27.

The Husker players will attend tonight’s game between the defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers at the SBC Center.

The Alamo Bowl is set for an 8 p.m. Central kickoff on Dec. 29, with the contest nationally televised on ESPN.
