Outlook: Jeff Nabity (pronounced NAB-it-tee) is back with the Huskers for the third season after starting his career at Southern Methodist. A tireless worker on the court, Nabity has seen solid improvement each season, earning his most playing time last year. Nabity, whose never-give-up attitude has rubbed off on his teammates, will look to take on more of a leadership role this season.

In the Fall (2003): Nabity saw plenty of court time in the fall, where he finished with a 3-9 singles mark and a 1-5 doubles record. He won his first two matches of the 'A' Flight singles main draw of the Louisville Fall Invitational in straight sets before falling in the quarterfinals.

As a Junior (2002-03): Nabity played nine matches for the Huskers, earning a 4-5 overall record, including a 3-4 mark in duals. He played above the No. 6 slot for the first time as a Husker, earning a 2-0 mark at No. 4 singles while going 1-3 at the No. 5 position. Nabity recorded a career-high three-match winning streak in the middle of the season. In doubles play, Nabity was 3-3 on the season, pairing with four partners. He earned a 1-0 record each with Joel Reckewey and Jose Rivera at the No. 3 position.

As a Sophomore (2001-02): In his first season playing for the Huskers, Nabity registered a 3-6 singles mark during the dual season and added a 2-1 record in fall action. The majority of his play came at the No. 6 position, where he recorded a 3-4 mark. He posted an 0-3 mark in doubles competition.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2000-01): Nabity competed for Southern Methodist University before transferring to Nebraska. He participated in fall tournaments for the Mustangs and finished with a 2-2 singles record and an 0-3 doubles mark. He did not see action in the spring lineup.

As a Freshman (1999-2000): Nabity redshirted at SMU.

High School: Nabity was a letterwinner at Grand Island High School where he reached the semifinals of the 1999 Nebraska state tennis tournament. Nabity was also a member of the Grand Island Class A championship basketball team.

Personal: Jeff is the son of Dr. Thomas and Jeanne Nabity. He was born Dec. 5, 1980, and has one brother, Tommy, and one sister, Rebecca. Jeff is majoring in fisheries and wildlife at Nebraska.
