Presented By The Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center and the Bo Pelini Foundation, Inc.
University of Nebraska Football Coach Bo Pelini announced June 2 as the date for the 2009 Football 101 -- presented by the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center and the Bo Pelini Foundation, Inc.
Led by Coach Pelini and the entire Husker football coaching staff, Football 101 promises to be a fun-filled day of learning and activity. The event will be held on campus at the Hawks Championship Center and the adjoining Memorial Stadium.
For just $85 fans can join the University of Nebraska Football staff in a day filled with the ultimate personal Husker Football experience. Participants will also be able to give back to the community with proceeds going toward breast cancer research and treatment. The event’s profits will again be donated to the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center Foundation and to the Eppley Cancer Center in Omaha. For every $85 registration fee, $55 is tax deductible.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. and the day will conclude with all participants taking the Tunnel Walk into Memorial Stadium at approximately 4 p.m. Several Husker football players will also participate.
The registration fee also includes lunch, provided by Premier Catering, in Memorial Stadium and a Football 101 gift bag that will include an adidas T-shirt, sponsored by Advanced Radiology and imprinted by Ideal Images. Participants are encouraged to arrive when the doors open at 7 a.m. in order to browse information and products from local vendors. Coffee and Pepsi products will be available while participants check out the many silent auction items. While most of the events will be held inside the Hawks Championship Center and on the indoor football field, some events may be held outside, weather permitting, with some walking and interaction required. Comfortable shoes and cool game-day attire is recommended. Accommodations will be made for those in need of assistance.
Fans are encouraged to sign up online at BoPeliniFoundation.com (designed by Thought District) beginning on April 1. The cost of registering online is included in the $85 registration fee.
