Furlan Wins 3,000-Meter Steeplechase at Canadian Championships

Numerous former Huskers continued competition at home and abroad on Friday at the USA Outdoor Championships, the Jamaican National Senior Championnships and the Canadian Championships.

Jessica Furlan finished first in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Canadian Championships in Mocton, New Brunswick. Furlan notched a time of 9:59.62, setting a championship record.

At the Jamaican Championships, Jodi-Rae Blackwood finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles finals with a time of 51.59.

In the semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles at the USA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Eric Lund came in 14th with a time of 51.39. He would not advance to the finals.

Chantae McMillian did not compete during the second day of heptathlon action at the USA Championships.
