2004-05 Season Outlook

The lone senior on this year's squad, Diana Torres will bring plenty of leadership and experience to the team.  She competes in multiple events and has turned in good times throughout her career.


2002-03 (Sophomore)

Torres helped boost NU in multiple events, despite battling an off-season infection that hampered her throughout the year...recorded NU's top times of the season at the Big 12 meet in both fly events (100-yard, 57.24; 200-yard, 2:05.43), while placing 13th and 18th overall...key member of NU's medley relay squads.


2001-02 (Freshman)

In her first collegiate competition at the Florida Atlantic Invitational, Torres finished fifth in both the 100- (1:00.93) and 200-yard (2:13.75) fly events and second in the 200-yard IM (2:15.19)...continued to adjust to American swimming by winning the 200-yard fly against Louisville, touching the wall in 2:09.83...added a runner-up finish in the 400-yard IM (4:48.61) against the Cardinals...also took the 100-yard fly against Iowa State in 59.28...swam a leg in the winning 200-yard medley relay against the Cyclones as well...peaked at the Big 12 Championships where she took sixth (14th overall) in the consolation finals of the 200-yard fly (2:08.39f, 2:06.84p)...also took fifth in the bonus finals of the 100-yard fly (21st overall) in 58.71 (58.55p)...earned the NU Freshman Award at the postseason banquet as the team's top freshman.



Member of the Colombian National Team..swam for Comfenalco club under Coach Felipe Santos in Bogota...took home the silver medal at the Centroamerican Games in the 200-meter fly in 2001...also finished second in the 100-meter back at the same meet.



Diana is the daughter of Omaira and Ivan Torres and was born on Aug. 12, 1982, in Bucaramanga, Colombia...has one sister, Silvia, and one brother, Felipe.
