Bio

2005-06 Season Outlook

Sprint freestyler Kate Dulgar (DULL-ger) improved her times in every event she competed in last year and will look to lower those marks even more in her final season as a Husker.  The senior has a taste of top three finishes, and could score major points this year for Nebraska.

2004-05 (Junior)

Dulgar was a strong 50-yard freestyler for the Huskers as a junior, and also regularly competed in the 100-yard backstroke and freestyle.  Dulgar swam to a season-high second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle at the San Diego Invite, and picked up third-place finishes in the event against Truman State and Kansas.  Dulgar also took second in the 100-yard backstroke at the San Diego Invite.  At the Big 12 Championships, Dulgar set career best marks in all three events.

2003-04 (Sophomore)

Dulgar had a solid season, helping the Huskers pick up a win against Nebraska-Omaha with a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.38).  She also contributed in relay events at the Big 12 Relays, helping her squad pick up a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.10.  Dulgar recorded two season-best times against Iowa State, clocking times of 25.22 in the 50-yard freestyle and 55.25 in the 100-yard freestyle.  Her best time of the season in the 100-yard backstroke came against Southwest Missouri State with a time of 1:03.38.

2002-03 (Freshman)

Dulgar recorded the fourth-best time on the squad and a career best in the 50-yard freestyle at Iowa State (24.63) and the second-best mark in the 100-yard freestyle at the Texas Invitational (53.56).  She also picked up six third-place finishes on the season, including taking third against Texas in the 50-yard freestyle (25.24).

Previous

Dulgar was a member of two high school All-America relays, the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle relay at Torrey Pines.  She helped lead Torrey Pines to a first-place finish at the California Interscholastic Federation Meet all four years.  Dulgar won back-to-back CIF titles in the 50-yard freestyle.  She swam for Coach Jeff Pease at TPHS and also swam for the North Coast Aquatics Club.
