2005-06 Season Outlook

Rachel Schlatter hopes to finish a strong career as the Huskers' fastest breaststroker as a senior.  Schlatter has set high standards for herself during her career, and has the ability to take first-place finishes and make a run at postseason success.  She set one NCAA-provisional qualifying time as a junior, and will try to earn her first bid to the NCAA Championships as a senior.

2004-05 (Junior)

Schlatter was NU's top breaststroker as a junior, owning the top times on the team in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events.  The team co-captain registered 10 top 10 finishes in the breaststroke events on the year, and ended on a strong note with first and second-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke against Missouri.  Schlatter also competed in the IM races for the Huskers, and placed as high as seventh in the 200-yard IM at the San Diego Invitational.  Schlatter placed seventh at the Big 12 Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke in an NCAA-provisional time of 1:03.79, and added a ninth-place finish in the 200.

2003-04 (Sophomore)

Schlatter started the season with a win against Southwest Missouri State in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.51).  She earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke against No. 23 Missouri.  Schlatter finished fifth at the Big 12 Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke in a season-best time of 1:03.70.  For the second year in a row, she was named Husker Power swimming and diving Lifter of the Year.  She set school records with a squat of 232 pounds and a power clean lift of 63 kilograms.

2002-03 (Freshman)

Schlatter took home 10th in the 100-yard breast (1:04.57) and 11th in the 200-yard breast (2:22.14) at the Big 12 Championships.  She picked up wins in the 200-yard breaststroke at Northern Arizona and against Truman State.  Schlatter finished second on the season charts in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.57) and first in the 200-yard breaststroke event (2:22.14).  She was named Husker Power swimming and diving Lifter of the Year.

A two-time captain at Middleton High School, Schlatter was a three-time all-state selection and set the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.05) and the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.27).  She also swam for the Badger Aquatics Club and coaches Jack Pettinger and Drew Walden.  Schlatter was also an honor roll student at Middleton.
