Andrew Lind practiced with the Huskers last fall, but could not run competitively due to NCAA transfer rules. Lind has shown good improvement since his freshman year after transferring to Oregon and practicing with Ducks in 2005. If he uses that experience and provides senior leadership.

2006 (Junior)

Lind was forced to sit out the 2006 cross country season because of NCAA transfer rules after rejoining Nebraska from the University of Oregon. He stayed in shape by practicing with the Huskers and then competed for the Nebraska track team, setting a pair of personal best marks during the indoor season. At the Frank Sevigne/Husker Invite, he ran a time of 2:30.97 in the 1,000 meters, while adding another personal best at the Iowa State Classic with a time of 4:20.32 in the mile. Outdoors, Lind finished 16th in the 800-meter run at the Big 12 Championships with a personal-best time of 1:53.54.

2005 (Sophomore/Oregon)

Lind transferred to the University of Oregon in the fall but only practiced. He was ineligible to compete in track when he returned to Nebraska in the spring.

2004 (Freshman/Nebraska)

In his first year of collegiate cross country, Lind competed in five meets for the Huskers. His highest finish came in the first meet of the year when he placed third on the team at the Creighton/UNO Classic. Lind trimmed nearly three minutes off his 8K time the rest of the season, completing the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in 27:52.

Lind redshirted during the indoor and outdoor track seasons at Nebraska but ran in three indoor races and one outdoor race unattached. He posted a season-best outdoor time in the 800 meters of 1:56.8 to finish third at the Nebraska-Wesleyan Twilight Invitational. Indoors, Lind recorded career bests in the 800 at the Prairie Wolf Invite and the mile at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.

High School

Lind did not participate in cross country in high school, lettering instead in football.

Lind did have a prosperous track and field career, while competing for only two years. He finished fourth in the 800-meter run against a tough field at the 2004 Oregon Class 4A state track meet. He owned personal-best times of 1:55.05 over 800 meters and 4:05.6 in the 1,500-meter run despite only a few competitions. During his senior season, Lind raced at distances from 200 through 1,500 meters. Lind’s high school coach was Eric Lider.

The son of Brian and Joanne Lind, Andrew was born on Oct. 29, 1985. Lind has two brothers, Darren (18) and Eric (15). Andrew is a biological sciences major at Nebraska and carries a 3.39 GPA.
