NU Set for Pair of West Coast Opponents at KU
Friday’s matchup with the San Francisco Don’s will be the first-ever meeting on the pitch between the two programs. The Dons, who return 10 starters from last year, are off to a 4-1-0 start in 2013 after finishing last season with a 7-8-4 mark. USF has been stout on the defensive end allowing just two goals in five games; one in the 75th minute and the other in overtime. The Dons are led offensively by junior Mackenzie Krieser who leads the squad with 26 shots, 21 more than her next closest teammate.
In Sunday’s contest, the Huskers will matchup with the San Diego Toreros for the second time in school history. The Toreros posted a record of 8-11-0 last season and are off to a 4-2-0 start in 2013. San Diego is coming off of a 2-1 overtime victory against Missouri on Sunday, Sept. 8. Senior Emily Dillon leads the Toreros on offense with five goals and two assists on 18 shots, including 13 on net.
NU is currently 2-2-1 on the season with Jordan Jackson leading the attack with a goal on 29 shots, including 17 on goal.

NU Logging Extensive Minutes on Five-Game Road Trip
The Huskers’ last two road matches have each lasted longer than 103 minutes as both have gone into double overtime. Despite outshooting its opponents in the last two matches by a 47-30 margin (20-12 on goal), Nebraska has been unable to pull out a victory.
Through three legs of its current five-game road schedule, NU’s opponents have racked up a season record of 14-0-1, with the lone tie coming in a 2-2 finish between Nebraska and Utah State on Labor Day in Logan.
Challenging Schedule for the Huskers
Nebraska's opponents this year have put together an impressive 72-22-11 record. A total of 14 teams on NU's 2013 schedule are currently listed in the regional rankings, including nine Big Ten schools. Victories from here on out against these quality opponents would pay dividends for the Huskers' postseason chances.
NOTE: Sunday's match with San Diego originally scheduled for 10:30 a.m. has been moved up to 9:30 a.m.
