The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Architecture is sponsoring an opportunity for Nebraska fans scheduled to be in Lincoln next week through the morning of the Nebraska-Arkansas State football game. Anyone who wants a sneak peek of what the new Pinnacle Bank Arena and Memorial Stadium’s east side expansion project will look like – inside and outside – check out an exhibit that will give visitors comprehensive views of detailed drawings, from original concepts through final renderings that include three-dimensional models and digital media. Interested professionals and fans are encouraged to place the following dates and times into your digital calendars and/or your calendars at home:

Monday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Room 202, Architecture Hall, 10th and R streets; Saturday, Sept. 15, 8:30-10:30 a.m. (Nebraska-Arkansas State kickoff is 11 a.m.)

Even though the exhibit primarily appeals to architects, interior designers and engineers, John Ingram encourages Husker fans to take the time to see highlights of interior details of both facilities that are under construction and scheduled to open in the fall of 2013. Pinnacle Bank Arena will be the new home of Nebraska men’s and women’s basketball in the West Haymarket Area. The East Stadium expansion will increase Memorial Stadium’s capacity to nearly 92,000. The expanded East Stadium also will feature approximately 45,000 square feet that will be devoted to collaborative research involving the University of Nebraska, Nebraska Athletics and privately funded affiliates. Ingram, a Nebraska associate athletic director, said his Capital Planning and Construction group is a partner with DLR Group and The Clark Enersen Partners for the architectural exhibit, which is free and open to the public.
