Huskers Set for Two Events in Six Days

Las Cruces, N.M. - After a two week break from competition, the Nebraska men's golf team returns to action at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at NMSU Golf Course.

NMSU Golf Course, a par-72, 7,014-yard layout, will play host to 12 teams at the 54-hole tournament. Monday's first round begins with a shotgun at 9 a.m. (CT). The second round will immediately follow the first round on Monday. Tuesday's final round is a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (CT).

In their most recent outing, the Huskers finished 13^th at the Firestone Invitational, shooting 605 over two rounds. Prior to that, Nebraska won the Fairway Club Invitational before tying for seventh at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate.

Kolton Lapa will represent the No. 1 position in the NU lineup in Las Cruces, N.M. The freshman is coming off a tie-for-22^nd finish at the Firestone Invitational, where he led the team with 148 strokes. Lapa also competed in Normal, Ill., where he tied for 39^th and played at ArborLinks, where he tied for 23^rd.

Playing in the No. 2 position is sophomore Ross Dickson. He played as an individual at the season-opening Fairway Club Invitational and tied for ninth. He came back with a second consecutive top-10 finish at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate with a tie for third. Dickson tied for 68^th at the Firestone Invitational.

Matt Record will be No. 3 in the Husker lineup at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate. Record is making his third start of the season after tying for 42^nd at the Fairway Club Invitational and tying for 74^th at the Firestone Invitational.

Neil Dufford will play in the No. 4 spot in the NU lineup. Dufford competed at the Fairway Club Invitational as an individual, where he tied for 20^th. The senior shot 230 over three rounds at ArborLinks Golf Course.

Playing in the No. 5 position is junior Manuel Lavin. Lavin is coming off a tie-for-79^th place finish at the Firestone Invitational in his most recent tournament. He also competed at the Fairway Club Invitational, where he tied for 27^th.
