Lincoln - Fans can follow the Huskers tomorrow, as Head Coach Tim Miles and senior forward Brandon Ubel will represent the Nebraska men's basketball team at Big Ten Media Day in Chicago.
Miles begins his first season at Nebraska after guiding the Colorado State program for the past five seasons, including a berth in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. In 2011-12, he guided Colorado State to the program's first 20-win season since 1997-98, as the Rams led the Mountain West Conference in field goal percentage, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage.
Ubel is the Huskers' only returning starter from last season, as he averaged 6.7 points and a team-high 5.3 rebounds per game. Ubel, who has started 59 games for Nebraska the last three seasons, is a broadcasting major who is on pace to graduate in May. Ubel spent the summer as an intern in the sports department at Lincoln television station KLKN-TV.
While in Chicago, Miles and Ubel will meet with regional and national media, including spots with ESPN and ESPN.com, SiriusXM Radio and tape segments with BTN's show The Journey, as well as participate with one-on-one interviews on site.
In addition, all 12 of the conference's head coaches will hold individual press conferences which can be seen on the Big Ten Digital Network beginning at 8 a.m. Central. Coach Miles is scheduled to go on at 8:50 a.m. (central).
