Nebraska sophomore Levi Gipson was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Monday as he was selected as the Big Ten Male Track Athlete of the Week. The honor marks the first indoor track and field weekly award of his career.

The Lincoln native led the Huskers at the Holiday Inn Invitational last weekend, coming in as the top collegiate finisher in the men’s 600 meters. His personal-best time of 1:17.65 is first in the nation and in the Big Ten and third all-time in the Nebraska record books.

The Huskers are back in action this weekend with the NWU Invite on Friday, Jan. 24 and the Mark Colligan Memorial on Saturday, Jan. 25. Both events will be held at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.
