Dickson Collects Top-30 Finish

Aiken, S.C. – Junior Ross Dickson led the Nebraska men’s golf team on Tuesday by shooting 76 in the final round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate to tie for 28th.

The Huskers finished 17th as a team, producing a 311 total over the final 18 holes. Nebraska opened Monday with 296 before posting 308 in the second round. NU’s 54-hole total at Palmetto Golf Club, a par-70, 6,617-yard layout, was 915.

Dickson finished the tournament with an 11-over-par 221 total over three rounds. The lone Husker to start every tournament this season, Dickson shot a first-round 70 on Monday before adding 75. He records his fourth top-30 finish of the season in seven stroke play events.

Senior Matt Record also fired 6-over-par 76 in the final round to tie the low Husker score of the day. He tied for 47th with a 225 total over 54 holes at Palmetto Golf Club. On Monday, he recorded rounds of 73 and 76 to contribute to his two-day score.

Fellow senior Mike Siwa finished 79th after a final-round 83. He finished with a 237 total after scores of 80 and 74 over the first 36 holes.

Justin Jennings, a freshman, completed the tournament at 28-over-par 238. After carding 76 and 83 on Monday, Jennings shot 79 on Tuesday to finish 80th.

Nebraska native Calvin Freeman took 86th after a final-round 80. He posted 244 over 54 holes.

Clemson took home the team tournament title, edging runner-up Virginia by two strokes with an 854 total. The Tigers’ Austin Langdale earned medalist honors with an even-par 210 total.

The Huskers return to action March 20-22 in Goodyear, Ariz., for the Desert Shootout. Palm Valley Golf Course will play host to the three-day event.
