Cassie Deeg, Cassidy Stelzmiller and Jordan Chael were listed on the Big Ten Conference’s Women's Golfers to Watch List announced on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Deeg, a junior from Hugo, Minn., owns Nebraska’s top returning stroke average (76.16 in 2013-14) and has competed in all 62 rounds for the Huskers in her first two collegiate seasons.
Stelzmiller, a junior from Placerville, Calif., is Nebraska’s top returning finisher from the 2014 Big Ten Championships. She finished 18th at the Big Ten Tournament and was NU’s most improved golfer during the spring of 2014.
Chael, a sophomore from Overland Park, Kan., produced one of the top stroke averages (77.67) by a freshman in school history in 2013-14. Chael earned a top-10 finish at the 2013 Chip-N Club Invitational and earned lineup spots in all 31 rounds for the Huskers as a freshman.
Nebraska opens its 2014-15 season by playing host to the annual Chip-N Club Invitational at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Monday, Sept. 8 through Tuesday, Sept. 9. Admission is free with the first round set to tee off on Monday at 9 a.m.
