Ellie Grooters competed in seven meets during the 2013 indoor season... posted a personal-best time of 56.68 in the 400 meters at the Nebraska Tune-Up... notched a time of 1:32.19 inteh 600 meters at the Mark Colligan Memorial, recorded a time of 1:30.48 in the event at the Big Ten Championships, finishing sixth... helped the 4x400 meter relay team to a fifth-place finish and a time of 3:42.57 at the conference meet... notched a tiem of 2:28.59 in the 800 meters at the Holiday Inn Invitational.

2012 (Sophomore)
Grooters became an All-American in 2012 after helping the women's distance medley relay team to a seventh-place finish at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships... she recorded an indoor personal-best time of 1:28.84 in the 600 meters at the 2012 Big Ten Indoor Championships, finishing third in the event... recorded an indoor personal-best of 2:13.62 in the 800 meters at the adidas Classic... also notched a personal-best time of 9.16 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Holiday Inn Invitational... set the indoor school record in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:09.83 at the NCAA Championships... posted an outdoor personal best of 2:13.16 in the 800 meters at the Kansas Relays... notched a personal-best time of 59.45 in the 400-meter hurdles in the preliminary round of the 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Championships... finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles at the outdoor conference championships... helped the women's 4x400-meter relay team to a time of 3:44.70 at the Big Ten Championships... posted a time of 1:03.33 in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA West Preliminary Round... earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award... honored as an academic All-Big Ten selection... earned a spot on the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.

2011 (Freshman)
Grooters earned four All-Big 12 honors as a freshman... finished third in the 600-yard run at the Big 12 Indoor Championships with a personal-best time of 1:20.90... took fifth in the 4x400 meters with a time of 3:39.21 for fifth place at the indoor conference championships... recorded a personal-best 57.23 in the 400 meters at the Nebraska Tune-Up on Feb. 18... also posted a season-best 2:18.03 in the 800 meters... finished eighth in the 400 hurdles at the 2011 Big 12 Outdoor Championships with a season-best time of 59.48 to earn All-Big 12 honors... took sixth in the 4x400 meters with a time of 3:37.73 to garner her fourth All-Big 12 accolades of the year.

Before Nebraska (West Fargo HS)
An accomplished hurdler at West Fargo High School in Fargo, N.D., Grooters was a four-time Class A state champion in both the 100 and 300 hurdles... a 16-time state medalist for the Packers, Grooters broke onto the scene as a freshman in 2007, when she won the 100 hurdles (15.84), 300 hurdles (45.55), ran the third leg of the winning 4x100 relay and ran the third leg of the 4x200-meter relay squad that finished second... returned as a sophomore to defend both of her hurdle titles, while adding a third-place finish in the 200 meters and a fourth-place showing in the 100 meters... won four more medals in 2009, including three golds... cleared a personal best of 14.73 to win the 100 hurdles and added a then-state meet record time of 43.03 in the 300 hurdles, while also running the second leg of the winning 4x800-meter relay and finishing third in the 100 meters... capped senior season with two more state titles in the 100 and 300 hurdles, as she broke her own state meet record in the 300 hurdles with a time of 42.51... added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters and a third-place showing in the 100 meters... on the national scene in 2009 she produced a ninth-place showing in the 400 hurdles at the USA Junior Championships in Eugene, Ore... improved at the 2010 meet at Drake Stadium, as she finished fifth with a time of 1:00.94 after she ran a personal best of 59.82 in the preliminaries.

The daughter of Greg and Robin Grooters... born Sept. 21, 1991... is a speech-language pathology major at Nebraska.
