LINCOLN, Neb. ? The Nebraska baseball team was selected as the No. 1 seed in its regional and will open postseason play on Friday, May 30 at 12:05 p.m. against No. 4 seed Eastern Michigan at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park. Rounding out the four-team regional will be No. 2 seed Coastal Carolina (45-16) and No. 3 Southwest Missouri State (35-23), which will play in the Friday night contest at 7:05 p.m.

The Huskers (44-16) will be looking for their fourth straight regional title and chance to play the winner of the NCAA Auburn Regional, which features top-seeded Auburn (40-19), which is also the No. 4 national seed, along with No. 2 Clemson (38-20), No. 3 Ohio State (41-19) and No. 4 Princeton (27-21).

Nebraska, which won the Big 12 regular season title this year, is making its eighth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, including its fifth straight, after reaching the semifinal round of the Big 12 Tournament over the weekend. Eastern Michigan (32-26), which won the Mid-American Conference Tournament this past weekend after entering as a No. 4 seed, is making its first trip to the postseason in 21 years. Coastal Carolina enters NCAA regional action for the third straight season after winning the Big South Conference Tournament title each of the past three years, while Southwest Missouri State earned a regional nod after winning the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title and reaching the semifinals of the league tournament. SMS was also in the Lincoln Regional last year, when NU defeated the Bears in the regional championship game.

Regional action begins Friday, May 30 at 12:05 p.m. and runs through Sunday, June 1. The championship game is set for 1:05 p.m. on Sunday.

Reserved seats are sold out, but General Admission All-Session passes are available at $46 each and can be purchased over the Internet at www.Huskers.com, or when the NU Athletic Ticket Office opens Tuesday morning following the Memorial Day holiday. Individual tickets, if available, would go on sale Friday morning.
