2006: Dace Ruskule became the second Husker to win an NCAA women’s discus title during her junior season, joining former teammate Becky Breisch, who claimed honors in 2004... won with a clutch throw on her fifth of six attempts to defeat defending champion Beth Mallory of Alabama... ranked second nationally on the NCAA discus performance list to Breisch, who failed to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships... recorded a winning throw of 193-9 at the NCAA Midwest Regional to take over the nation's No. 2 performance and win her second consecutive regional title... the throw ranked as her top performance since joining the Huskers... earned second place behind Breisch in four of eight meets during the season... finished as the runner up at the Big 12 outdoor meet... also claimed second-place honors at the Stanford Invitational (185-2), Texas Relays (186-3), Nebraska Invite (191-11) and Drake Relays (190-9)... notched her lone victory prior to the regional meet at the Kansas Relays with a spin of 186-11... surpassed the regional-qualifying standard during every 2006 competition... ranked 33rd in the 2006 IAAF World Rankings. 2005: Raskule won a Big 12 outdoor crown in the discus in her first season at Nebraska... recorded her season-best mark of 186-1 to win the Midwest Regional and qualify for the NCAA outdoor meet... placed 27th during the qualifying round at the national meet after struggling with her footing in the discus ring... opened her Husker career with a win at the Stanford Invite (179-9)... also claimed gold at the John Jacobs Invite (177-9)... earned runner-up honors to Breisch at the Nebraska Invite (185-7) and Doane Relays (176-7)... also collected silver honors at the Drake Relays with a toss of 179-3... finished third at the Texas Relays (172-7)... was the 2005 Latvian national discus champion (174-10). In Latvia: Raskule transferred from the Latvian Academy of Sport Education... competed in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, in the discus, throwing 188-5 in the qualifying round, but did not advance to the finals... won her third consecutive discus title in the 2004 Latvian National Championships with a spin of 189-4... threw a personal-best 195-9 in winning the 2004 Baltic meet in Riga, Latvia... finished in sixth place in the discus at the 2003 European Junior Championships with a throw of 171-7... also threw in the 2001 European Juniors, but did not qualify for the finals with a then-personal best of 173-0... competed in the 2000 World Junior Championships in Santiago, Chile, in the discus, but did not advance from the qualifying round despite her season best of 157-1.
