1986 (Senior)
Munford led Nebraska in tackles for the third straight season with 90 tackles, including 49 solo stops as he rebounded nicely from a season-ending knee injury from the season before.  Tied for fifth on the team with eight tackles for loss, Munford registered a pair of interceptions, including one against No. 3 Oklahoma.  Munford led a great Nebraska rushing defense, which held No. 11 Florida State to 76 yards on 31 carries and pushed Kansas back for a loss of 21 yards on 22 rushing attempts.

1985 (Junior)
Despite missing the last two games due to a knee injury, Munford led the Huskers with 67 tackles as NU's starting weak-side linebacker.  He broke up three passes, recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes.  He led the team in tackles in four games and shared the team lead in three others.  His top tackle game was an 11-tackle effort against Illinois.

1984 (Sophomore)
Munford racked up a team-leading 99 tackles including 61 solos and seven for losses of 19 yards.  Against Missouri, Munford had two interceptions, including one which he returned for a 57-yard touchdown and had a career-high 16 tackles, which he matched later in the year against Oklahoma.  He broke up two passes and recovered a fumble to lead a defense which topped the nation in both total defense (203.3 yards per game) and scoring defense (9.5 points per game).  Munford closed his sophomore year with a fine effort against LSU in the Sugar Bowl, recording nine tackles (seven solos) and one interception.

1983 (Freshman)
Munford split time between the varsity and junior varsity teams, leading the freshman squad with 36 tackles (21 solo) in a 5-0 season.

At Heritage High School
Munford was a all-conference, all-metro Denver and second-team all-state for Coach Bob Nielson at Heritage High School, where he was a teammate of former Husker middle guard John Reinhardt.  Marc also lettered in basketball and was an all-conference baseball player as a junior when he hit .460.
