Nebraska I-back Marlon Lucky has been selected to the preseason All-Big 12 team in a conference media poll. The Big 12 Conference office announced the preseason selections on Thursday morning in advance of next week’s Big 12 Media Day in Kansas City.
A senior from North Hollywood, Calif., Lucky is the leading returning rusher in the Big 12 Conference. In 2007, Lucky ran for 1,019 yards and nine touchdowns. An all-purpose threat, Lucky also set a Nebraska record with 75 receptions for 705 yards and another three touchdowns. He finished the year ranked 31st nationally in all-purpose yards and topped the century mark in that category in 10 of 12 games. Lucky was a second-team All-Big 12 pick following last season.
Lucky enters his senior year with 1,876 career rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns. He ranks third in school history with 109 career receptions for 1,091 yards and three touchdowns.
