The Walk-On Club was created to help Head Football Coach Bo Pelini achieve his goal of restoring the traditional walk-on program Nebraska Football built over the years.

With additional walk-ons joining the team, the walk-on budget needed to increase to recruit and outfit the new players, provide support services and account for additional operating costs.  To meet those financial needs, the Extra Point Club, one of Nebraska’s oldest booster clubs, readjusted its focus to specifically support the walk-on program, and created this new Club.

The Club offers several membership benefits, including invitations to the Walk-On Club Luncheons, a spring practice event, other Club events, e-newsletters and the opportunity to help build Nebraska's football tradition.  Membership is a donation of $100, 80 percent of which is tax-deductible.  In addition to supporting the walk-on program, the Club will also contribute to a postgraduate scholarship to a Husker walk-on each year.

The Walk-On Club Luncheon series has been one of the highlights of the Club.  Each season's three luncheons feature great videos and guest speakers including former walk-ons and current members of the Nebraska Football staff.
