Lincoln - The second day of the Big Red Invitational bowling tournament wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Sun Valley Lanes, as Central Missouri is in first place with a total pinfall of 7,869. The Nebraska bowling team is in fifth place with a total pinfall of 7,394, while NU's Cassandra Leuthold is in seventh place with an average of 194.80.

Vanderbilt, who topped Thursday night's Baker-style matches, slid to second behind UCM with a total pinfall of 7,829, while Arkansas State is close behind in third place with a total pinfall of 7,813. Valparaiso sits in fourth with a pinfall of 7,447.

The individual competition began today, as Vanderbilt's Kayla Rhoades leads with an average of 208.80. Arkansas State's Samantha Santoro follows close behind in second place with a 208 average.

Leuthold was the only Husker to crack the top-10 individually, while NU senior Kaleena Henning holds a 179 average for 20th place, while Husker redshirt freshman Kristi Mickelson is in 21st place with a 177.80 average.

The Big Red Invitational kicked off last night with four 4-game Baker matches. The Huskers placed fifth after round one with a 2,925 total pinfall. However, NU was able to move up the charts today and remained in fifth place.

The Huskers will take to the lanes tomorrow at 7:50 a.m. in hope of moving up the rankings to capture the Big Red Invitational title. Five more team game matches will be played to determine the tournament winner, with the awards ceremony commencing at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

In addition to the team competition, the five person all-tournament team will be announced following Saturday's session. The all-tournament team will consist of the individuals with the highest per-game average after the 10 team game matches.
