Informal and formal educational assessments are administered to student-athletes. The coordinator of learning development programs administers diagnostic testing upon the request of individual student-athletes, coaches or academic counselors. The results are used to determine if more in-depth, professionally-administered assessments are warranted. When additional assessments are necessary, referrals are made to a consulting psychologist who conducts the assessments and forwards the results to the director of the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities and others identified by the student-athlete. If it is determined that a student-athlete has a learning disability, appropriate accommodations are made.
