Tutorial support is available to all student-athletes providing specific one-to-one subject tutoring and mentor tutoring and ongoing study skills development. Tutors are hired, trained and evaluated by the coordinator of learning development programs. Each tutor receives a comprehensive tutorial manual complete with relevant NCAA rules, tutorial policies and procedures, as well as information regarding academic ethics and honesty. The tutorial staff consists of undergraduate and graduate students as well as others from the Lincoln business and teaching communities. Students are provided with instant access to tutor names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses via a computerized tutorial system. The learning program coordinator and assistant academic counselors are available to demonstrate how to work the program. After student-athletes receive names and phone numbers of qualified tutors, they are then responsible for arranging a tutorial appointment at a mutually convenient time. Student-athletes are encouraged to have regular weekly appointments throughout the entire semester. Tutorial sessions are monitored by the academic counseling staff.
