Stella Klassen earned First-Team Academic All-America honors in 2000 and was a four-year letterwinner for the Huskers on the track from 1997-2000. A native of Henderson, Neb., Klassen made her impact for NU in 1998 by earning the first All-America honor of her career as member of the seventh-place 4x400 relay at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. Klassen brought home two more All-America awards in 1999 with an 11th overall/8th American finish in the indoor 800 meters and a third-place finish in the 400 meters outdoors. She concluded her career with two All-America honors in 2000, as she finished third in the 400 meters and contributed to a sixth-place finish in the 4x400 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Klassen graduated in May of 2001 with a degree in elementary education.
