Nebraska football fall camp creates excitement in August, and the games begin for real in September.
Don't forget about Football 202 in July. It's a big deal, too, and Jeff Jamrog says only 25 spots remain for Bo Pelini's all-day session on Tuesday, July 27, that will take fans behind the scenes for a unique look at Nebraska's program.
"We're almost full, and we think these last 25 spots will fill rather quickly," said Jamrog, Nebraska's assistant athletic director for football operations.
For his third annual event, Pelini decided to focus on Game Day preparations, so that he and his football staff could explain the insight that goes into game planning, scouting reports, film study and much more.
"Football 202 is a great opportunity for Nebraska fans to get an inside look into our football program," Pelini said. "We let people go behind the scenes a little bit with our staff, and hopefully they leave with a better understanding of how Nebraska football operates on a daily basis."
In addition to hearing from Coach Pelini and other members of the Husker coaching staff, several special guests, including former Husker Ahman Green, are expected to be a part of Football 202.
Green is the second-leading rusher in Nebraska history (1995-97) and has played 12 seasons in the National Football League. Last fall, Green became the Green Bay Packers' all-time rushing leader, and the Omaha native recently signed to play with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.
Football 202 also will include the opportunity to watch the 2010 Huskers work out under the direction of NU Head Football Strength Coach James Dobson.
The full day will conclude with a social gathering from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with members of the staff in attendance.
The Football 202 schedule is: 7:30-8:30 a.m.-Registration; 8:30-11:45 a.m.-Morning program; 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.-Lunch; 1-5:30 p.m.-Afternoon program; 5:30-7 p.m.-Social.
The cost of the event is $274, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, a shirt, and the social event.

Editor's note: Football 202 is open to anyone interested in learning how the Huskers operate a program that consistently ranks among the nation's elite.
