The NCAA has announced it will stream the selection show for the 2011 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Wednesday, March 9 at 5 p.m. CT. The show will unveil the 330 student-athletes set to participate in the tournament, along with the seeds and brackets for each weight class live NCAA.com. The championships are set to kick off on Thursday, March 17, at 10 a.m. and run through Saturday, March 19.
The selection show, which will be hosted by Shane Sparks, will be followed by a three-hour NCAA Championship breakdown show with guest appearances from NCAA Division I Wrestling committee chair, Derek Van Der Merwe, and NCAA champion and National Wrestling Hall of Famer, Wade Schalles. Printable brackets will be available on NCAA.com at 5:30 p.m.
The Huskers have automatically qualified seven wrestlers for the NCAA Championships, as David Klingsheim (125), Ridge Kiley (133), Mike Koehnlein (141), Jordan Burroughs (165), Josh Ihnen (184), Andy Johnson (197) and Tucker Lane (HWT) all earned their way in the Big 12 Championships last weekend. Klingsheim and Burroughs punched their tickets to the tournament by each winning Big 12 titles at their respective weight classes.
