We are about ready to take off on our trip! Everyone is so excited to leave tomorrow.
We are making the final preparations to leave Lincoln. We are almost done packing - just one more practice, and then it's off to Sweden!!!
Everyone has done their leadership activities. We talked about power adaptors, exchanging currency, what to pack and how to pack. We also talked about how to sleep on a plane. We even talked about what to expect from the weather in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and what we should bring on the flights.
I guess that's one of the challenges of being such a young team with so many freshmen and sophomores. We still have to learn how to travel. Hopefully traveling all over Europe together for 11 days will help us when we're on the road this year in the Big Ten.
I didn't really have many problems with traveling as a freshman last year, but it was a huge adjustment to make from high school to college in that area. The things we have prepared for as a team this summer not only helped us plan our trip, it also allowed us to learn more about the countries we are traveling to this week, as well as their cultures.
We are so lucky to have this opportunity to travel and play against different styles of players. We have been getting better over the past 10 practices. We have improved our individual skills, developing our games within the system and discovering the tendencies of all of our teammates both on and off the court.
We're planning to have a super-dooper trip!!
Go Big Red!
