Lincoln - The Big Ten
Conference announced on Tuesday that the Nebraska soccer team will make one appearance
on the Big Ten Network this season and will have seven of its 10 home games
streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network (BTN.com). Other road Big Ten Conference
games carried by BTN.com are likely to be added as each conference school sets
its Student U/BTN.com schedules. Nebraska's own HuskersNSide may also stream
the three remaining home contests, but that will be announced at a later time.
BTN's soccer coverage also includes the BTN
Soccer Report, a weekly web-only show hosted by Kevin Egan. Fans can
also follow the entire season on Twitter @BTNSoccerReport, or by using hashtag
#BTNSoccer.
Husker fans across the country will
be able to watch the Huskers open Big Ten Conference play at Northwestern on the
Big Ten Network or BTN2Go.com. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. (CT) start in
Evanston, Ill., on Friday, Sept. 14 and will be shown on BTN at 7 p.m. (CT) the
same day. Nebraska hosted Northwestern last season in the first Big Ten
Conference contest across all sports at NU and beat the Wildcats, 3-1, on BTN.
This season's game between the
Huskers and Wildcats is one of 10 games scheduled to be shown on BTN during the
2012 regular season. Both semifinal games and the championship game of the Big
Ten Conference Tournament are also shown live on BTN.
The Huskers will make their first
appearance on BTN.com this season on Sunday, Aug. 26, when NU concludes the
Husker Classic with a 1 p.m. game against New Mexico. NU opens the Husker
Classic on Friday, Aug. 24, against Virginia Tech. Nebraska's final non-conference
game of the 2012 season on Sunday, Sept. 16, with Northern Colorado will also
be shown on BTN.com.
All five of the Huskers' home Big
Ten Conference games will be shown on BTN.com, including their Big Ten opener
against Purdue on Friday, Sept. 21. NU hosts Indiana two days later at 1 p.m.
Penn State and Ohio State visit
Lincoln in October for games on Friday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 14,
respectively, before the Huskers wrap up the regular-season on Friday, Oct. 26,
when they host Minnesota at the Nebraska Soccer Field.
