2015 • Junior Season Preview
Madison McConkey provided important depth down the stretch for the Huskers last season and returns to serve as a strong competitor on bars. 

2014 • Sophomore Season 
McConkey provided much-needed depth to the Huskers’ roster last season. The sophomore became a bars specialist and made her debut on the event against Michigan on Valentine’s Day. McConkey picked up her career-high mark of 9.70 against Arkansas on senior night. 

As a business administration major, she earned her first Academic All-Big Ten Conference honor as well as claiming a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2013.

2013 • Freshman Season
A native of Lincoln, Madison McConkey took a redshirt season as she adjusted to the competition level of collegiate gymnastics. McConkey will contribute valuable depth to the Huskers when she joins the lineup in 2014.

She got off to a solid start in the classroom by claiming spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.

Before Nebraska
McConkey trained alongside teammate Jamie Schleppenbach at the Nebraska School of Gymnastics under Tim and Rachel Garrison. A three-time Junior Olympic National qualifier, McConkey finished second (2009), fifth (2010) and third (2011) in the Region IV all-around competition. She also competed at the Kansas City Pink Ribbon Invitational in 2011, finishing first on bars (9.575), third on floor (9.550) and fourth on beam (9.45).

A Lincoln, Neb. native, McConkey was born Sept. 16, 1994 to Mick and Cookie McConkey. She has a sister, Markie, and a brother, Mickey. She was a 2012 graduate of Pius X High School. She has not declared a major but she did earn spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.
