Big Ten Sets 2015 Conference Football Schedule
The Big Ten Conference announced the conference schedule for the 2015 football season on Monday morning, as approved by the Big Ten Directors of Athletics. The 2015 Big Ten schedule will consist of eight games, before the conference makes the move to a nine-game schedule in 2016.
Nebraska will open the 2015 Big Ten schedule at Illinois on Oct. 3, 2015. Nebraska will also make conference road trips to Minnesota (Oct. 17), Purdue (Oct. 31) and Rutgers (Nov. 14). The game at Illinois will be the Huskers’ first trip to Champaign since the 1986 season, while NU’s trip to Rutgers will be its first-ever game in Piscataway, N.J.
Nebraska’s Big Ten home schedule in 2015 will begin with an Oct. 10 matchup against Wisconsin at Memorial Stadium. The Huskers will also play host to Northwestern (Oct. 24), Michigan State (Nov. 7) and Iowa on Friday, Nov. 27.
The 2015 Big Ten Championship Game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Dec. 5.
In addition to the 2015 Big Ten schedule, Nebraska will play non-conference home games against BYU (Sept. 5), South Alabama (Sept. 12) and Southern Miss (Sept. 26). Nebraska will travel to Miami, Fla., in non-conference action on Sept. 19. The lone bye in Nebraska’s 2015 schedule will occur on Saturday Nov. 21, prior to the regular-season finale against Iowa.
