The Nebraska men's tennis team returns to action this weekend at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. from Sept. 28 through Oct. 6. Four Huskers were selected for the tournament in the prequalifying draw and they are Tom Blackwell, Dusty Boyer, Beau Treyz and Marc Herrmann. The prequalifying draw matches begin on Saturday, Sept. 28 and the main draw doesn't begin until Thursday, Oct. 3.
For NU, Herrmann is set to play against Xavier's Zach Mueck while fellow Husker Blackwell looks to challenge Clemson's Christian Harris. Nebraska's Boyer tackles the No. 17 seed Marquette's Dan Mamalat as the final Big Red player Treyz is slated to shoot it out against East Tennessee State's David Biosca.
For the Nebraska players to make it to the main draw, they must win their prequalifying matches to advance to the qualifying draw, then continue their success in that bracket to proceed into the main draw.
Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive an automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 7-10, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY.
Results from this weekend's matches will be available here on Huskers.com following the matches at the conclusion of play. Go Big Red!
