2014 (Redshirt) Ryan Freudenburg redshirted during his first year at Nebraska.
Before Nebraska (Lutheran-Northeast) Freudenburg joined the Nebraska program as a walk-on after a standout prep career at Lutheran-Northeast High School. Freudenburg's play on the offensive and defensive lines helped Coach Darin Suckstorf's team reach the state playoffs every year during Freudenburg's high school career. As a senior, Freudenburg helped Lutheran-Northeast to a 9-2 record and trip to the quarterfinals of the Class C-2 playoffs. During his junior season, the team advanced to the state semifinals and posted an 11-2 record and advanced to the state semfinals. As a senior, Freudenburg was a first-team Class C-2 all-state pick as an offensive lineman by the Associated Press, Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. He is the son of Mark and Shelley Freudenburg, and he was born on Dec. 21, 1995.
