NU Continues Big Ten Play Against Wisconsin, Minnesota
The Huskers are set to face Big Ten opponents Wisconsin on Friday, March 21 at 3 p.m. in Madison, Wis., before returning home to host Minnesota on Sunday, March 23 at 10 a.m. in Lincoln, Neb. at the Lincoln Racket Club. Nebraska sits at 8-6 overall after a double-loss weekend last week with 6-1 and 4-1 defeats to Iowa and Wichita State, respectively. Nebraska and Wisconsin have met nine times throughout history with Nebraska leading the series 5-4. NU and Minnesota have met 16 times in history with Nebraska trailing in series 5-11.
Huskers In The ITA National Rankings
Nebraska remained out of the ITA Top 75 when the new rankings were released on Tuesday, March 18. There are seven Big Ten teams in the ITA Top 75 and these teams are No. 9 Northwestern, No. 15 Michigan, No. 31 Indiana, No. 40 Purdue, No. 51 Ohio State, No. 52 Illinois and No. 65 Iowa. Michigan and Northwestern are the only two Big Ten teams inside the top 25.

The Badgers aren’t currently in the national rankings with no ranked singles players and no doubles players in the ITA rankings. Wisconsin went 5-18 in 2013 and 3-8 in the Big Ten Conference. Wisconsin didn’t qualify for the NCAA Tournament and were knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament in the first round by a 4-0 loss to Indiana. The Cornhuskers and Badgers have met nine times throughout history, with Nebraska leading the series 5-4. The last match between the two teams was on Sunday, April 21, 2013 when the Huskers defeated the Hawkeyes 4-0 in Lincoln, Neb.
Scouting the Minnesota Golden Gophers

The Golden Gophers aren’t currently in the national ITA Top 75 rankings with no ranked singles or doubles players. Minnesota went 10-15 in 2013 with a 3-8 mark in the Big Ten Conference and were knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament by Nebraska in the quarterfinals. The last match between Nebraska and Minnesota was their tournament match in on Friday, April 26, 2013 that resulted in a 4-0 victory for the Cornhuskers, knocking the Gophers out of the tournament and sending NU to the semifinals.
Nebraska hosts two matches at home next weekend facing Michigan State on Friday, March 28 at 4 p.m. before welcoming Michigan on Sunday, March 30 at 11 a.m. at either the Vine Street Courts or the Lincoln Racket Club, pending the weather.
