Ryan Reist joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in March of 2014 as an assistant director of sport nutrition. He works with Nebraska's football, golf, tennis, gymnastics and softball teams. His responsibilities include designing individually tailored meal plans for each of his student-athletes, progressive nutrition consultations, measuring athlete’s body compositions, implementing pre-fueling and re-fueling strategies for each team, partnering with the strength and conditioning staff to maximize training efforts and supporting each student-athlete's training regimens.
Prior to coming to Nebraska, Reist worked as a registered dietitian and exercise physiologist for an executive wellness program. He also works with athletes and other individual through his sports nutrition company.
Reist graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in nutritional sciences, he also holds master's degrees in exercise physiology and sport nutrition. Reist is a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) and a Board Certified Specialist in Sport Dietetics (C.S.S.D).
Reist married his wife, Whitney, in May of 2013.
