1987: Senior Season
In his final season, Mark Kister was Nebraska's third best hitter, hitting .373 for the season...racked up 76 hits, 124 total bases, 57 runs scored, 15 doubles, 11 home runs, 61 RBIs and a .608 slugging percentage...produced .975 fielding percentage, committing 13 errors while making 468 putouts...during conference play had a .411 batting average with 30 hits, 22 RBIs and 22 runs scored...earned honorable-mention All-Big Eight.
1986: Junior Season
During his junior season, hit .326 and recorded nine doubles, seven homers, 35 RBI and 73 hits from the four-hole position, while playing third base, designated hitter, and a few games at first base and catcher...in conference games only, Kister hit .405 and led the team in hits (34)...Kister had a 10-game hitting streak and in 23 games earned multiple hits...earned first-team Academic All-Big Eight honors.
1985: Sophomore Season
Kister hit .373 with 93 hits, finishing second on the squad in hits...his 67 RBIs rank him sixth all-time, yet was only fourth on last year's club...led the squad with 31 multiple hit games, wiht best game coming against Minnesota (4)...scored his high of three runs in three different games, and drove in a career high five against Kansas...earned third-team Academic All-America honors.
