Post-Eligibility - International Students

By Nebraska Athletics

International letterwinner alumni may participate in PEO; however, due to their immigration status, additional considerations must be observed.

- To take advantage of the internship option, international letterwinner alumni must seek an F-1 Optional Practical Training (F-1 OPT) visa. This will require the individual to apply for an employment authorization document (EAD) with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This will require the letterwinner alum to coordinate with UNL's International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO).

Internship Checklist for International Students

- Due to current immigration regulations, international letterwinner alumni may not participate in the study abroad option.

- To take advantage of the graduate school option, international letterwinner alumni must be enrolled in a degree-granting graduate or professional program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
