With Nebraska earning a No. 2 seed in this week’s Big Ten Conference Baseball Tournament at Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park, now’s a good time to announce two Husker-themed special baseball events this summer in Denver and Kansas City.
During Saturday’s regular-season home finale, Nebraska announced that Husker Night at the K, a popular annual event, will be Saturday, Aug. 6, at Kauffman Stadium, pitting the 2015 World Series Champion Royals against their American League Championship rival Toronto Blue Jays.
Royals Expect Husker Baseball Fans to Arrive in Full Force at the K on Aug. 6th
Royals spokesman Brit Gardner said the first 7,500 fans with special Husker Night tickets will receive a free Nebraska-themed KC hat, pictured above. “We’re well under the 7,500 number, but I’m sure Husker fans will still be coming out in a big way on August 6th,” Gardner said.
Upper-level seating in the Hy-Vee box and Hy-Vee view areas are available. Box seats are $38 and view seats $22. Please use www.royals.com/huskers to buy Husker Night at the K tickets. In a new policy for 2016, Husker Night hats will be distributed exclusively at Gate A, so fans are encouraged to arrive early. Gate A will open at 4:30 p.m. Only individuals with Husker Night tickets purchased through the official link will be eligible to receive a cap.
Colorado Rockies Honor Husker Fans, NU Alumni in Saturday June 25th Game
Colorado Rockies’ spokesman Reuben Donnelly said Nebraska fans who purchase University of Nebraska Day special tickets for the Saturday afternoon, June 25th game against the Arizona Diamondbacks will receive a red-and-white CR hat with an “N” on the back of each hat. Special offer tickets include upper reserve infield for $25, outfield box for $35 and infield box for $65.
Nebraska fans are encouraged to wear Husker-related gear. For every Big Red special ticket purchased, $2 will go back to the Nebraska Alumni Association. Saturday's Rockies vs. Diamondbacks game begins at 2:10 p.m. Mountain Time.
