Percy Selected to Compete at World Championships
Nebraska track and field All-American Nick Percy has been selected to compete for British Athletics at the IAAF World Championships in London next week.
Percy will be Britain's lone representative in the discus after claiming his second straight British discus championship earlier this month with a winning mark of 199-5 (60.78m) at the British Athletics Championships in Birmingham, England. Percy, a two-time Big Ten champion and the 2016 NCAA champion in the event, is entering his senior season at Nebraska and holds a lifetime personal best of 207-11 (63.38m), which ranks third in NU history.
The discus will begin with qualification rounds on August 4 and the final will commence August 5. A total of 87 British athletes will compete at the World Championships, the largest ever team to represent British Athletics.
